Subject: Re: January 15 is Personal Firewall Day, help the cause

I applaud the efforts this organization is attempting. Will it fix
everything? Of course not.

End-users exist.

Some end-users are smart enough to learn.

Other end-users are smart enough to know they're too dumb to learn, but
smart enough to ask for help.

Other are simply too clueless to know they're clueless and will continue to
exist in that ignorance.

If they're not smart enough to ask to learn, not smart enough to ask for
help, how are they to be expected to use the suggested alternative: Linux?

My parents fall into this category. I love them dearly but my Dad trying to
use X-windows and Star-Office seems like a bigger headache than the number
of script-kiddies port scanning my network for sql vulnerabilities.

Good luck everyone! Try and keep it in perspective, this is our job, not why
we get up in the morning.
