check securityfocus.com/bid or other to see known xploits, then make  
you own opinion.
What are you scared of ? Oracle, Mysql and MS SQL have much more  
xploits available mainly because more communly used.

ps:Filemaker 7 is not the latest it's 8. Maybe that the difference  
between you "IT folks" and hackers...
