Subject: 2.6.27.3: usb 5-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd pcscd rqt
 161 rq 3 len 1024 ret -110

When trying to get the Broadcom 5800 Smartcard reader in my Dell
Latitude E6400 working with pcscd and the latest svn version of the ccid
driver, I get the error
usb 5-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd pcscd rqt 161 rq 3 len 1024
ret -110

in my demsg log.

I attached usbmon trace, the output of pcscd -f -d and dmesg and lsusb
-v.

I have succeeded in using this smartcard reader successfully once, but
it seems to fail most of the time with these errors. Even when it
worked, restarting pcscd was enough to trigger the same errors and get
the smartcard reader inaccessible again.
