Subject: Kernel 2.6.31 locks up during initialization.

Summary: Kernel 2.6.31 locks up at the same place every time during initialization. Version 2.6.30.6 (and earlier) work and do not lock up. There is no "OOPS" nor kernel panic - just a dead machine that requires a hardware reset to restart.

This happens as/after the end of the IDE interface scan and before the sis900 ethernet interface scan. However, I have nothing that indicates that either of these devices are responsible for the problem.

A detailed description of the error, system, and configuration appears as a MIME attachment to this message.

I am not a member of the list, but do read it via a Usenet gateway.
