3.1.0-rc7-00041-gb172e38 isn't any better:

so which device is that? Second try succeeds.

Googling gives some hints about itpm option for tpm_tis... while trying to 
rmmod/modprobe it I got problem below. Anyway that shouldn't be itpm issue
