I hope it's not, see mlnx_get_envelope_update_time(), this part in 
particular:

        /* Prevent the effect from being started twice */
        if (mlnxeff->begin_at == now && mlnx_is_playing(mlnxeff))

        return mlnxeff->begin_at;
