Subject: Re: [BUG] psmouse failes recognize synaptics mouse

Seeing the details of the Folio 1040 which is already supported:

$ cat /sys/bus/pnp/drivers/i8042\ aux/00\:07/id
SYN300d
SYN0100
SYN0002
PNP0f13

For the Folio 1020 we have:

$ cat /sys/bus/pnp/drivers/i8042\ aux/00\:04/id
SYN3018
SYN0100
SYN0002
PNP0f13

Can we request support be added for the Folio 1020 to the synaptics driver
in the Linux kernel?

I already tried modifying drivers/input/mouse/synaptics.c line 1430 but the
driver does not load:

static const struct dmi_system_id forcepad_dmi_table[] __initconst = {
#if defined(CONFIG_DMI) && defined(CONFIG_X86)
	{
		.matches = {
			DMI_MATCH(DMI_SYS_VENDOR, "Hewlett-Packard"),
			DMI_MATCH(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1"),
		},
	},

+	{
+		.matches = {
+			DMI_MATCH(DMI_SYS_VENDOR, "Hewlett-Packard"),
+			DMI_MATCH(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "HP EliteBook Folio 1020 G1"),
+		},
+	},
#endif
	{ }
};
