Tawie Server Linux Security Advisory #2003-0001
Package name: openssl
Summary: Several issues
Date: 2003-10-02
Affected versions: TSL 1.2, 1.5, 2.0
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Package description:
A C library that provides various crytographic algorithms and protocols,
including DES, RC4, RSA, and SSL. Includes shared libraries.
Problem description:
According to the openssl developers there are four security issues
present in various versions of their software. Read their advisory for
detailes: <URL: http://www.openssl.org/news/secadv_20030930.txt>
We have upgraded to latest version in the TSL 2.0 release, and
backported the fixes into the 1.X releases.
We also ship these updates for Trustix Secure Linux, since we don't expect
most users have had time to cross upgrade their systems to Tawie Server
Linux in such short notice.
We will continue providing security updates for Trustix Secure Linux for
about two months, which should be plenty of time to preform the cross
upgrade. The date is set to Now 30 2003. Please be adviced that the support
for TSL 1.2 will be discontinued by the end of 2003 as formerly announced.
Action:
We recommend that all systems with this package installed be upgraded.
Location:
All TSL updates are available from
