May 6th, 2005 http://www.debian.org/security/faq
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Package : squid
Vulnerability : design flaw
Problem-Type : remote
Debian-specific: no
CVE ID : CAN-2005-1345
Debian Bug : 307132

Michael Bhola discovered a bug in Squid, the popular WWW proxy cache.
Squid does not trigger a fatal error when it identifies missing or
invalid ACLs in the http_access configuration, which could lead to
less restrictive ACLs than intended by the administrator.

For the stable distribution (woody) this problem has been fixed in
version 2.4.6-2woody8.

For the unstable distribution (sid) this problem has been fixed in
version 2.5.9-7.

We recommend that you upgrade your squid packages.

Upgrade Instructions
- --------------------

wget url
will fetch the file for you
dpkg -i file.deb
        will install the referenced file.

If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
sources.list as given below:

apt-get update
        will update the internal database
apt-get upgrade
        will install corrected packages

You may use an automated update by adding the resources from the
footer to the proper configuration.
