VULNERABILITY SUMMARY
A potential security vulnerability has been identified in HP-UX
running swagentd.  The vulnerability could be exploited remotely
by an unauthenticated user to cause swagentd to abort resulting
in a Denial of Service (DoS).

HP has provided the following software patches to resolve the
vulnerability.  The patches are available for download from

For B.11.00 and B.11.04:

  After installing all patches, stop and restart swagentd
  as follows:

    /sbin/rc1.d/K900swagentd stop

    /sbin/rc2.d/S870swagentd start

For B.11.11:

   After installing all patches, the system should be rebooted.
   Until the system is rebooted swagentd will remain potentially
   vulnerable.

The DCE patches were originally recommended in
HPSBUX0311-299 SSRT3660.
