Subject: rPSA-2010-0072-1 curl

rPath Security Advisory: 2010-0072-1
Published: 2010-10-27
Products:
rPath Appliance Platform Linux Service 2
    rPath Linux 2

Rating: Minor
Exposure Level Classification:
Indirect User Non-deterministic Denial of Service
Updated Versions:
    curl=conary.rpath.com@rpl:2/7.17.0-2.3-1

rPath Issue Tracking System:
    https://issues.rpath.com/browse/RPL-3223

References:
    http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2010-0734

Description:
Previous versions of curl do not properly restrict the amount of
callback data sent to an application that requests automatic
decompression, which might allow remote attackers to cause a denial
of service (application crash) or have unspecified other impact by
sending crafted compressed data to an application that relies on the
intended data-length limit. This has been fixed.
