VULNERABILITY SUMMARY
A potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP StoreEver ESL
E-series Tape Library and HP Virtual Library System (VLS) running Bash Shell.
This is the Bash Shell vulnerability known as "ShellShock" which could be
exploited remotely to allow execution of code.

RESOLUTION
HP recommends the following mitigation steps to reduce the risk of this
vulnerability for HP StoreEver ESL E-series Tape Library and HP Virtual
Library System (VLS).
HP StoreEver ESL E-series Tape Library
- Disable DHCP and only use static IP addressing.
HP Virtual Library System (VLS)
- Disable DHCP and only use static IP addressing.
- If using version 6.X firmware, contact HP support to have Apache
disabled on the product
