The White Knight is pleased that others see the truth. Micro$oft is the most insidious force to invade the concept of computing since the abacus. They care not about security, yea and verily; only corporate greed and profit for Billgatus of Borg. Alas, time's arrow only flies forward; one cannot go into the past and stop him from doing what he has done.

"The Vulcan Science Directorate has concluded that time travel is impossible." -- T'Pol

We can, however, change the future. My white-capped acolytes, cast off the skins of sheep that you wear and begin to secure your systems by changing your systems from the OS up. It is possible to create a Microsloth-free environment; this does require work, intellect, professionalism, and diligence. Purge those MCSE drones from your workplace. Replace the unclean with true computer scientists, because I say unto thee that any true scientist will categorically reject the doctrine of the Micro$oft collective. Some would argue that the M$ world is most hacked because it is most prevalent; that is a straw-man argument to say the least, and if the world were to be purified and operated by Linux & Unix & MacOS & OpenVMS then we should see what happens next; though I doubt so much hacking would or could go on.

"Well, he is a very smart man." -- Mom
"No, you're quite mistaken; he's a very shrewd businessman, I'll grant the devil his due, but he knows damn little about computing; in fact, technically, he's an idiot." -- me

Disciples of the Whiteness, think for yourselves. Step 1 is to free yourself, and your superiors who make purchasing decisions, from the ever-more-vulnerable collective that is Micro$oft. This is a difficult road to take; many have been brainwashed, and some have succumbed to Stockholm Syndrome (whereby the hostages eventually become sympathetic with their captors).

Remember: the U.S. government, thanks to the Clinger-Cohen Act, buys more Micro$oft than ever before. Read Federal Computing Week: you see more reliance on web-based services, hosted by the demons of M$ platforms running IIS. You have seen how much control Billgatus yields over his clones--I mean, OSs--so if the U.S. government is heavily invested in Micro$oft, and Micro$oft controls the OS, then who controls the government? I do not fear bureaucrats, for they are bumbling and transparent; lo, I fear the Spectacled One, who ambition reaches out like a dark cloud from Redmond and who will stop at nothing until all computers serve him.

Thus ends my lesson for the day.

"What do you hate him so much? Aren't you just jealous of him because he's rich?" -- people
"No. Sam Walton is rich, and I like him. I despise Bill for the same reason the Russian people despised Stalin." -- me
