You must be new to this list.  It has survived *many* off-topic discussions 
and will survive many more.  That's part of the price you pay for an 
un-moderated list.  Those who dislike that will probably leave, but that 
won't change the list at all.  Frankly, if you read the list charter before 
subscribing, this should not come as a surprise.
