Well I read the article, but just below the article are two videos of
Bill Gates giving a speech:

 Bill Gates calls for research innovation

 Bill Gates sees software opportunities
   Bill Gates, chairman, Microsoft


Specifically the one called BG calls for research innovation, I like his
idea of creating the settop box and video games etc all in one and using
terminal services to broadcast different apps to diff TV's within the
home.  Good stuff :)
