Subject: Teenager cleared of hacking - Off Topic?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/dorset/3197446.stm
All that tells me (and anyone else) is that the jury considered there wasn't
enough evidence to convict him. Once again though we'll have the UK IT press
claiming that the 1990 Computer Misuse Act doesn't cover hacking and denial
of service attacks. Actually it does, just not explicitly. The really crazy
thing is though that few cases ever get to court anyway, regardless of the
legislation. I have to wonder how many companies do deals to employ hackers
(like the movie "Catch me if you can").
This probably is off-topic for this list, but it's been mentioned before. Oh
well, here come the flames...

Political correctness - a modern day tool to confuse the minds of the
unwary.
