John,

A number of individuals have already been contacted, and consequently
several posts that clearly violate the charter have been avoided since
our announcement yesterday, most of these being extremely political in
nature and therefore highly inappropriate to the list.

However, we must be careful to make the distinction between off-topic
posters who consistently violate the charter, and those individuals who
for the most part adhere to the charter, yet for one reason or another
have become unpopular with other list members. Due to this reason we
cannot simply field requests suggesting that named individuals are
dealt with in a specific manner. Such posts merely increase animosity
and contribute further to the noise.

Further comment welcome off-list, as I requested initially.

Cheers
- John
