Message-ID: <200403011013.i21ADkP13028@netsys.com> From: david.hajek at systinet.com (David Hajek) Subject: RE: laptop security Nice stuff, but any GPS device does not -prevent- laptop thefts. Its just kind of alarm system for laptops. Its a minute job to take out hdd from any laptop even it is protected with GPS device. If we're talking about loss of information due to laptop thefts and we want to prevent it we have to assure that data on the disk are encrypted. -D > -----Original Message----- > From: Gadi Evron [mailto:ge@...tistical.reprehensible.net] > Sent: Saturday, February 28, 2004 9:27 AM > To: bugtraq@...urityfocus.com > Cc: full-disclosure@...ts.netsys.com > Subject: laptop security > > I think this may interest some people here. > > I always say, whenever laptops are mentioned: "Forget > everything else, I have nightmares already!". > > The loss of information due to laptop thefts is extremely > high, here is an innovation that may possibly be as useless > as car theft alarms (unless you are nearby and didn't leave > the laptop in the car), but it's a good start.
