No - snag yourself a old 18" satellite TV dish, you can toss a signal 10 miles
with those pretty easily.  I'm told by people who do that for a living that if
you have skill, clue, a perch on a mountainside, and a 2 meter parabolic
giving you 35db of gain, you can do 35 miles if you can aim the dish....
