Subject: in2cable login client for linux

Hi guys.. its been a long time for me and i have been trying hard to
find myself a proper client login for my linux machine.
in2cable is internet provider which provides intenet thru cable
connection and the clients are provided with a client login which
authenticates the user thru its server.

Now i wud like u to elaborate my research on the thing...

in2cable client and cyberroam clients are not exactly the same .. they
are frm the same vendor and most probably use the same method of
authentication... well the the difference is still there coz in my
case it did authenticate my account and let me connect but some how
the connectivity was almost dead .. well this explanation was for
those who wud believe they r the same stuff...my connection now works
fine once i haev done away with the cyberroam client that i had been
using for my in2cable connection.. now i use my in2cable clent without
a prob.

linc doesnt work for me .. it has some dependency prob ... may be the
rpm at sourceforge is meant for a earlier version and not fedora ..
well my kernel is still 2.4.6 .

well another some.tar.gz at sourceforge which has two files in it the
one being the instruction ....well if i follow thw instruction this
lets me to the stage of nslookup or dig ....and thats it a big period
again.. i cant go beyond that.. i tried tracerouting .. it doesnt go
beyond my in2cable dhcp... i cant do anything here again.

the most elaborate document that i came across was the one provided by
vivek of exain.com at linux documentation . he has epxplained every
step in beautiful deatails making the work easy even for a novice..
sumhow my effort failed me there aswell... reason ... the daemontools
i installed were for the redhat9. well i still have ato get a get
download acopy of daemontools and compile it fresh ... may be it
works but sstill if u get a chance to see vivek's documents its
supposed to be a long series of tasks .....

plz help is there no simple way i can connect to the net thru my linux
machine ... something that i dont have to be bothered abut even if i
mees it up a bit .... any solutions guys .. i have already wasted enuf
days

** as most of the cable serice providers my in2cable uses PPPoE but sumhow Roaring-Penguin clent doesnt work at all.

thanx in advance.....sorry for the typos

funnnnn2ooooosh
