Sounds like a perfectly good idea to me.
If the OP is serious, then he will be taught, in one of the better,
longer lasting ways, a good deal about webservers, SSL and port 443,
realise that he shouldn't be in charge of a webserver, beg for his admin
to come back and hopefully perform some research before ever typing an
email again. This is probably to much to hope for however.
More likely, the OP is sitting in front of his computer laughing away to
himself for all the time he has wasted..errr... the vast amount of
enjoyment he has brought us poor overworked sysadmins.
