This was not a mistake on his part. We Americans are always looking for new and innovative ways to harm our country and our people, as are the Brits, the Aussies, the Russians, the Chinese, and every other country with an organised defence.

It's the age old concept of "Know thy enemy". Something that we as IT security specialists understand and work hard at every day.
