Subject: Hit counters trickery and spamdexing

Hi,

working on a spamdexing paper, as i think it could become one day a serious
problem like the spam is nowadays, i've experienced a tried way to generate
web traffic and trick the hit counters.
As an example you can take a look at:
http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates/top250

If you want to help or DOWNLOAD FIREFOX just go here or add this link to
your site:
http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=3496&t=58

What about security?
The traffic generation could be used by malicious websites to obtain good
rank on the search engines using other spamdexing techniques and trick users
in a phishing way - or - 'simply' launch DoS attacks.

If someone have interesting informations about spamdexing, help will be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Jerome ATHIAS

PS: Please note that i respect and support the Mozilla Firefox project -
regards to the Mozilla Firefox community.
PS2: a little test of spamdexing...
