Van Eck's research paper has no references pre-1965, which I presumed he would have used had it available. Can you provide a reference to the original research from the 1950s?

Just to be exact, Van Eck did not discovered it first. He just first who made
homebrew system in university. Original roots of this attack go back to
1950-s.
