Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: netdevsim: fix nsim_pp_hold_write()

nsim_pp_hold_write() has two problems:

1) It may return with rtnl held, as found by syzbot.

2) Its return value does not propagate an error if any.

The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2024-56713 to this issue.

	Issue introduced in 6.10 with commit 1580cbcbfe770b0a7fb76735c1a601483335c1c2 and fixed in 6.12.7 with commit 5c553262f063b3bf85df3b22a9818a8d92510f4d
	Issue introduced in 6.10 with commit 1580cbcbfe770b0a7fb76735c1a601483335c1c2 and fixed in 6.13-rc4 with commit b9b8301d369b4c876de5255dbf067b19ba88ac71

Mitigation
==========

The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest
stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes.  Individual
changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel
release.  Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or
supported by the Linux kernel community at all.  If however, updating to
the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this
