Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

gve: Implement settime64 with -EOPNOTSUPP

ptp_clock_settime() assumes every ptp_clock has implemented settime64().
Stub it with -EOPNOTSUPP to prevent a NULL dereference.

The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2025-40298 to this issue.

	Issue introduced in 6.17 with commit acd16380523b400400523fe54c7499320e558e80 and fixed in 6.17.8 with commit c9efb03ff4fae0bc7e5ef3323c3aab599cb4c88a
	Issue introduced in 6.17 with commit acd16380523b400400523fe54c7499320e558e80 and fixed in 6.18 with commit 329d050bbe63c2999f657cf2d3855be11a473745

Mitigation
==========

The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest
stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes.  Individual
changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel
release.  Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or
supported by the Linux kernel community at all.  If however, updating to
