It has happened again for the third time, and this time I was able to
use sysrq. In all three cases, the first process to hang was emacs when
exiting a group in gnus and top showed it in WCHAN page_sync.

Now using:- Linux newton 2.6.29-rc4-00026-gf06da26 #1 SMP Mon Feb 9 21:17:53 GMT 2009 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
