We are nowhere near the inode limit:

$ df -hi /
Filesystem                                             Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on
/dev/disk/by-uuid/<some-uuid>  3.2M  191K  3.0M    6% /

I can't confirm 100% since we rebooted this host and I don't have a candidate demonstrating the problem right now that I can check, but it's something we've checked previously.
