The patch looks good to me FWIW. But as Jiang properly notes current
upstream doesn't need this at all so it's only for -stable kernel releases.
Since there was no report of this problem so far I'm not convinced this is
serious enough to warrant non-upstream patch in -stable but if this bug
indeed breaks some application, please add that info to the changelog and
send the patch to stable@...r.kernel.org for inclusion. In that case also
feel free to add:
