diden't see it again. I will keep my eyes open but hot docking seems to work
with a vmware bridge running.
I attach the dmesg of this latest try
even leaving the USB memory in the bay while undocking is ok now.
only it dosen't get reattached on docking than. I had to unplug and replug
it.

regarding the SATA patches I recently found some discussion about Forrest
Zhaos patchset and lost the track somewhere on GMANE.
maybe Forrest, Tejun, or Jeff or whoever knows could tell the audience what
the latest status on this issue is
