So am I doing this incorrectly?

$ make ARCH=powerpc iseries_defconfig

$editor .config

CONFIG_VT=y
...
#
# iSeries device drivers

CONFIG_VIODASD=y
CONFIG_VIOCD=m

CONFIG_VIOPATH=y
