Also, read Documentation/CodingStyle - this often surprises first-time submitters.

And if you get a huge flood of comments and suggestions of things to fix,
consider it a *good* thing - it means that the kernel experts liked the basic
code well enough to spend enough time to make 4,398 little suggestions. :)
