Subject: "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference" in 2.6.18.2 (2.6.18-1.2239.fc5)
Hi,
2.6.18 kernels do not seem happy on my new 2x dual core opteron box. I posted
an oops yesterday but since then have wiped everything and started again
(without XFS this time, just in case) and upgraded to 2.6.18-1.2239.fc5 which
is 2.6.18.2 + a couple of redhat patches. It had been running for about 24
hours and was idling when the following Oops came up.
I've included 3 stack traces. The second and third stack traces appeared
immediately after the first. Then the third was repeated constantly until I
rebooted it. I assume this is because the original error caused the scheduling
to throw errors and both the second and third are red herrings, but I thought
I'd include them, just in case.
dmesg is attached below, if anything else is needed please let me know.
And if any one knows of any older kernels that are more stable for this
hardware configuration (2x dual core opteron 2220SE's with aacraid) please
let me know.
TIA,
Colin.
