Subject: PROBLEM: "PCI: Bus #03 (-#06) is hidden behind transparent bridge
 #01 (-#03)"

Hi,

I'm sending this because the kernel message said I should :)

[1.] PCI: Bus #03 (-#06) is hidden behind transparent bridge #01 (-#03)
[2.] I recently compiled 2.6.18.3 for my laptop, and when I inspected the logs I found this:

     Nov 27 14:46:41 m03r21a2905 kernel: PCI: Bus #03 (-#06) is hidden behind transparent bridge #01 (-#03) (try 'pci=assign-busses')
Nov 27 14:46:41 m03r21a2905 kernel: Please report the result to linux-kernel to fix this permanently

     OK, so I added

       append="pci=assign-busses"

in lilo.conf and now I see:

     Nov 27 14:59:09 m03r21a2905 kernel: PCI: Ignore bogus resource 6 [0:0] of 0000:00:02.0

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel): PCI Bus
[4.] linux-2.6.18.3 11% cat /proc/version
     Linux version 2.6.18.3 (perbo@...mos) (gcc version 3.4.6) #1 SMP Mon Nov 20 01:29:03 GMT 2006

[5.] Most recent kernel version which did not have the bug: N/A
[6.] Output of Oops.. message: N/A
[7.] A small shell script or example program: N/A
[8.] Environment
[8.1.] Output from scripts/ver_linux:

If some fields are empty or look unusual you may have an old version.
Compare to the current minimal requirements in Documentation/Changes.
