There's a typo in the above commands. It should be echo instead of cat.
In addition, just typing "git prune" didn't save much. When I did
git-prune -a -l -d, however, all of my trees shrunk to just a couple of
megs (just my deltas, I assume).

Maybe this will be helpful to someone else.
