Here is the patch that does work - but... I do have warnings that I
haven't noticed initially when compile for ES7000 case:

I'm afraid I will have to do something ugly or ifdef to get rid of
this warning, so I guess I'd rather take yours, Vivec :) since it
compiles and runs cleanly.
