Subject: Fwd: stopped at "Freeing init memory: 100K "

I have used busybox 1.6.0 and 1.5.1
I used the kernel 2.6.18 from Montavista ,used arm_v5t_le-gcc to
compile kernel and busybox , but my busybox can't enter shell

I have no "etc/inittab " file .

Following is my debug info :

Why are you using an arm v5 compiler for an arm v4 system? Also
why do you feel the need to use a montavista kernel and one as
old as 2.6.18!
[引用文字已隐藏]did you ensure /dev/ttySAC<x> where correctly created in the root fs?

this is rarely a busybox problem

see if booting with init=/bin/sh works

if it doesnt, create a static application that just displays "hello" and boot
that with init=

if the static works but the dynamic fails, it's a toolchain problem ... go
talk to the people who made it

What is your meaning , the kernel and toolchain are both given from
Montavista . I think ,the kernel and the toolchain are compatible ,
but I don't know whether this version of toolchain is compatible with
busybox 1.6.0 or 1.5.1 , the toolchain is 4.2.0 ,is too hight ??

I ever used the pure kernel-2.6.18.8 version from www.kernel.org and
used the toolchain arm-9tdmi-gnu-linux-gcc to compile pure
kernel2.6.18.8 and busybox 1.6.0 ,they can all run on JK2410 board , I
can enter shell . However , when I used kernel from Montavista whose
version is also 2.16.18 (toolchain is arm_v5t_le , kernel can run on
board , but busybox can't enter shell )

I have created console , tty0 , tty1 , ttyS0 ,ttyS1 , and null
--
[root@...alhost dev]# ls -al
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 1024 Jun 19 19:10 .
drwxr-xr-x 11 root root 1024 Jun 20 08:25 ..
crw-r--r-- 1 root root 5, 1 Jun 19 19:05 console

crw-r--r-- 1 root root 1, 5 Jun 19 19:05 zero
---------------------------
but I don't know how to use mknod to create ttySAC0 , maybe it is same as ttyS0
my bootargs is :
Kernel command line: root=/dev/ram0 rw console=ttySAC0,115200 mem=64M
ramdisk=32768 initrd=0x30800000,20M init=/linuxrc
I must create /dev/ttySAC0 ? how to create it ? my pc doesn't have
this nod , it major and minor ?

another , linuxrc -->  bin/busybox ?
thanks ,

Best Regards,
Bob
