Subject: [git patches] irq handler fixes and cleanups


Ack'd by maintainers where possible, but older drivers like parport are
orphaned (according to both real life and MAINTAINERS).

Simple obvious cleanups (and/or fixes), generally resulting in a more
efficient irq handler.
