hm, odd.
Can you look up sym_hcb_attach+0x1194/0x1384 in gdb? Something like
- Enable CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO
- gdb sym53c8xx.o
(gdb) p sym_hcb_attach
<prints 0xsomething>
(gdb) p/x 0xsomething + 0x1194
<prints 0xsomethingelse>
(gdb) l *0xsomethingelse
