Hi,
  I have Kouwell PCMCIA USB+FW card and via that attached external
drive. The laptop ASUS L3C/S has been now quite busy now with
downloading data via ssh and creating a DVD .iso imagine. Downloading
a tiny patch file through web browser caused an apparent lock
- the system did not reflect NumLock-key presses not Ctrl+Alt+F1.
The external drive (where the .iso has been created) got silent as
well as the internal HDD to which the data via ssh have been stored.
Luckily, I had removed the PCMCIA card before resetting. Here is
what I found in the logs:
