Subject: XFS kernel crash

Hello!

I hope I'm turning to the right mailing list with this problem. To me
it looks like a problem in the XFS filesystem and I consider defects
in filesystem very, very critical.

While I was maintaining a system configured like
   - VM in VMware Server
   - 1 processor
   - 768MB ram
   - ubuntu 6.06 / 2.6.15-52-server #1 SMP Fri Jul 11 13:43:59 UTC
2008 i686 GNU/Linux
   - several virtual disks, all with XFS; except /boot which is ext3
the system suddenly stopped responding over ssh and I started the
VMware Console to look at it's tty. I saw the first stack trace on the
screen, made a screenshot and resetted the machine. It then ran
without problems until tomorrow morning.

I was trying to delete a directory tree when it became unresponsive
again. I opened up the VMware Console again and saw the second stack
trace.

I happily would supply additional information to identify the problem.

Thank you for your time and
goodbye,
  juergen
