Subject:  VIA SATA id 5372 & Pioneer DVR-215 DVD burner problem

Hi,

I have installed a Pioneer DVD burner (DVR-215) in my system. The mother board
is an Asus only 6 months old. Basically the drive is detected by the system but
sata_via complains and generates some errors in the log and then the drive will
not work after this. I was running kernel 2.6.25.4, and upgraded to 2.6.26.3 but
this did not fix the problem. The following is the output from dmesg ....
