Sorry, you are right. Pine do change attachment which is recognized as 
ASCII text files. Pine thinks the right thing to do, based on the file 
extension, is to convert a text file to CR/LF:

I could not find a way within Pine where I could attach a file in way 
where everything is preserved as is, but regarding the actual case 
with SiS55x I don't think there is a need for posting the patch 
correctly anyway. The patch was not that popular after all.
