That's 8KB, which would normally not be allocated. But I think we can
live with it.
Do we actually need to support 255 banks? Or can we support a smaller
number transparently?
(IOW: are the banks interchangable?)

I have a truly marvellous patch that fixes the bug which this
signature is too narrow to contain.
