Thanks! I forward ported patches to 2.6.31-rc1, and it seems to
boot/work well enough for a shell. (I _did_ take few
shortcuts). Resulting diff (2.5MB) is at
http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pavel/outgoing/g1.8.diff . config
attached.

Now.. I do have a git tree with my hacks, but I guess they are just
too hacky.
