I have the EXPERIMENTAL flag set on the first page of the xconfig.
root@...ote linux-2.6.31-rc7]# grep EXPERIMENTAL .config
CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL=y
# CONFIG_CIFS_EXPERIMENTAL is not set

Hardware Monitoring support
does not grep, but a grep for HWMON shows this.

CONFIG_HWMON=m
CONFIG_HWMON_VID=m

CONFIG_ACPI_ASUS=y is now, was not set or available to be set in xconfig that
I could find. I set it with vim instead.

And finally
CONFIG_SENSORS_ATK0110=m

I'll rebuild it now for test, and advise of the results.

Thanks, Stefan.

Results are that without that command line argument, I'm still dead. With
it, it worked. I even changed the line in my rc.local that was loading it87,
to loading asus_atk0110 but that is way too late I believe.

.config & dmesg attached.

Thanks everybody!
