now, I re-installed the system, and suspend doesn't work anymore.
if I have the xhci module loaded, it fails and returns to the screen
right away.
if I unload the xhci module, I get to the character console, and then
the machine hangs there - nothing happens anymore. only a power cycle helps.
I don't know what was different when at least suspend worked :(
I'll try to do some more debugging..
