Subject: what's the point behind "new_valid_dev" always returning 1?
from include/liunx/kdev_t.h:
static inline int new_valid_dev(dev_t dev)
{
return 1;
}
is there some point to a test function that simply returns
hard-coded true, and has been around since 2005? just curious.
