Subject: PROBLEM: Kernel panic on 2.6.36-rc4 when loading intel_ips on Core
 i3 laptop

Hi,

I'm getting a kernel panic when I try to load the new Intel IPS 
powersaving code (intel_ips). It happens about 5 seconds after it gets 
loaded.

It occurs on an Acer 1830T which has a Core i3-330UM CPU. It panics when 
using SMP. With maxcpus=1 it does not panic but gives a general 
protection fault. It seems to me that it's trying to disable turbo mode 
which AFAIK does not exist on this cpu.
