Linus - I applied your patch and attached the diff between output of dmesg 
before and after the patch as resume_timing.diff. This patch alone does 
not seem to fix the issue; however, applying Francois's patch in addition 
to yours make the resume smooth. I have also attached the diff output of 
dmesg before and after, with both patched applied as resume2_timing.diff. 
Both cases were tested after a fresh reboot. Please let me know if you 
need any other information.
